In this course I take you through making one of our characters for an actual production we are doing. The character is a background character and build very simple – so if you are interested in being thrown through the whole character modelling, sculpting, uv pipeline instead of countless hours of zbrush classes teaching you hardcore techniques you dont yet understand because you dont have the ground pillars then this is the course for you. its about introducing all tools and layouts. Starting from scratch.

Requirements To Enter

Skills Required

  • No prior experience with modelling. This introduction targets the very beginner of Maya – Zbrush
  • Willingness to put in the hours and work

Software Required

  • The course is in Maya 2018 – Student version will do fine and Can Be Picked Up Here 
  • Zbrush 2018 is needed too. Get a trial version going if you dont have your own license.

We don’t just sculpt. We Make films.

Many people just want to learn how to sculpt a cool character and we could have made a tutorial of 160 hours of how to sculpt wrinkles, but its all useless to us if we cannot make a rig for it. We are an animation house and will not try to trick anyone into building a wireframe for a model that isnt going to move. This is 100% for someone who wants to learn the whole pipeline. While the wireframe we build here is simple it is still very valuable for the riggers.

Do I have to design my own character?

Well if you do not have time there are a huuge amount of artists who would love to see their designs come to life in a 3d version. Remember to credit everyone so you all benifit. And later you can rig your character and take a rigging course with you while you go! Or the animation class with Christoffer Andersen.

Pricing & Enrolment Options

You watch the course on your own pace and while you are welcome to write to me for help, i do not promise direct help. The lectures are there and have been used to teach students at both The Animation Workshop in denmark and at Manoanim. So the lectures are working, but you gotta be willing to put in the house. That being said if you write I do strive to try and answer as many of you as possible – but since this is only a side hobby of recording as I go along – because I like sharing – doesnt cover my bills so I do not always have time.

You can download the course on a week by week basic once payment has been processed but its up to you. You are also very welcome to download the whole thing.

 

Keep download time in mind – this course is about 6gb.
